Journey is an ~8-9 year old male neutered cattle dog that was rescued off the streets of Bloomington, California by a rescuer named Faith Easdale. Journey was presented to the University Veterinary Center for medical examination and work up when the UVC Medical Team determined that he suffered from multiple medical ailments, including trauma to the left hind leg via a gunshot wound. Journey subsequently underwent multiple surgeries including a hind limb mid-femoral amputation to repair the injured and diseased stump of his injured leg. He is now completely healed and ready for the next step in his recovery and 'happy every after'.
Journey is owned by rescuer Faith Easdale. The name is her rescue organization is "Rescue By Faith". Since the rescue group does not have a website, they have asked the University Veterinary Center to host the online application for Journey's adoption screening. All applications submitted through this page are submitted directly to the rescue group. University Veterinary Center has provided the rescue with suggested criteria on a "perfect home" for Journey based on his few months at our hospital. However, the ultimate decision of where he goes will be up to the rescuers that founded and sponsored his care.
This dog has endured more than a human will endure in several lifetimes. It is my sincere hope that he goes to a home filled with love and laughter. I hope he is adopted by someone who is willing to work with him through his psychological issues, just as we worked with him through his medical ones. - Dr.Ash
